Danny Morton Project Manager

I started volunteering as a IAG worker at GMCC just over a year ago. I am studying for a diploma at present. After Mary left I was offered the role as Project Manager and jumped at the chance. Although a lot of my time is spent making funding applications and on the operational side of GMCC, I still mentor a few men and am looking forward to seeing GMCC continue growing on the foundations Mary laid.

Marlene Whilans Prison Link Worker

I am the prison link worker at HMP Manchester. Once a week I go onto the wings and workshops to interview men who have expressed an interest in having a volunteer linked with them. The relationship usually starts with aletter or a visit by the volunteer a few months before release. Some of the men continue the relationship after release and come down to Cafe Central on Oldham Street. For many who are cut off from family and friends this is a lifeline of support at an insecure and lonely time in their lives.

Mike Dagley, volunteer advice worker

I trained as a mentor in late 2010 and, around the same time, also started teaching GMCC clients how to use computers.  I’ve since studied for a diploma in advice work and can offer guidance on many of the services that ex-offenders need.  As a qualified chef, I also cook in the kitchen, serving up hearty dishes every Tuesday.

Bobbi Unwin. Office Manager

Bobbi is GMCC Office Manager. She works (and is also a Director) for EXCELL.

Paul Langley IT tutor

Paul runs the IT suite at GMCC. He volunteered for a year before being employed by EXCELL & seconded to GMCC.
